On February 18th, 2025, the EU issued the revised draft of POPs Regulation (EU) 2019/1021, proposing to revise the limits of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). The draft is currently in the public consultation period, and stakeholders can submit feedback before March 18, 2025. The final control requirements are subject to the final resolution of the European Commission.

The main requirements to be revised are as follows

    Warm tips

As typical POPs, PBDEs and PCBs have strong persistence, bioaccumulation and high toxicity, which are seriously harmful to the ecological environment and human health. Reducing the limit value of POPs regulations revised by the EU this time means that the control of these harmful substances will be further strengthened. ZRLK suggests that relevant enterprises should always pay attention to the dynamics of POPs regulations in the EU and investigate the compliance of substances involved in the upstream and downstream of the supply chain as early as possible to ensure that products put into the EU market meet the control requirements of POPs regulations and avoid unnecessary trade losses. Our company has a wide range of testing fields and a professional and efficient service team, which can help enterprises evaluate the special chemicals regulated in products and make your products meet the corresponding national and international organization standards.
